cover Imprints

Our Curated Collection is a set of nine ready-made imprint designs for your album covers.
How it works
Each design is carefully composed for our album sizes, so spacing, scale, and legibility are already refined. Simply select the Curated design number you like and we’ll update it with names, initials, and dates – no artwork files required.
Ideas & inspiration
For ideas, try a wreath or monogram for romantic weddings, a clean serif layout for timeless family albums, or choose one favourite Curated design as your studio’s “signature” cover so every album leaving your studio feels cohesive.
Handset metal type
Refined Text
Imprints

Handset metal type uses individual metal letters set by hand to create your cover imprint, giving a classic bookbinding feel that suits names, dates, and simple titles.
Fonts & character
You can choose from Bodoni, Helvetica, Kabel, Cochin, Park Avenue, and Stymie. Because the imprint is created with physical type rather than a digital plate, small variations in spacing and impression add a quiet, artisanal character.
Best use
Handset type is ideal for clean, text-led covers—especially timeless wedding, portrait, or studio sample albums. Keep wording short so each line stays balanced, and use the font preview tool to see how it will sit before you order.
Font Calligraphy
Fine art
Script

House Calligraphy is our in-house script font, set for you by our team. It gives the cover a soft, handwritten feel without needing custom calligraphy artwork.
Look & Fit
Letterforms are flowing and elegant, with gentle contrast in the strokes so names and dates stay refined yet easy to read. It works especially well on linen and leather for wedding and fine art portrait albums.
bEST FOR
Choose House Calligraphy for couples’ names, a short phrase, or a single line of text when you want a romantic, fine art impression. Keep wording concise so the script has room to breathe and the imprint stays clear and balanced on the cover.
custom design
Design it
Your Way

Custom Design Imprints let you use your own logo, crest, or artwork on the cover—offering the most flexibility for a truly branded, personal album.
Fonts & character
Provide single-colour artwork (preferably vector), and we’ll create an imprint plate or logo die for compatible products. Ideal for studio logos, monograms, or illustrative marks. See the Imprint Options page for detailed information on imprint methods and finishes.
Best use
Perfect for studio samples, brand-focused collections, or albums featuring a crest or emblem. Keep artwork clean for the best imprint result.

Tips & Best
Practices
Keep It
Refined
Keep text short and intentional. First names, initials, titles, or meaningful dates create a more refined impression than long phrases and help every imprint style remain clean, balanced, and elegant.
Choose with
Purpose
Choose Curated when you want something beautiful and efficient, or Handset Metal Type for timeless, text-led covers with a traditional, editorial feel.
Design with Intention
Select House Calligraphy for romantic fine art aesthetics with a soft, expressive touch, and Custom Design when a logo, monogram, or crest should confidently lead the cover.

faq
you ask
we answer
1. Which cover imprint option should I choose?
Curated designs are best when you want a ready-made layout with custom text. Handset Metal Type suits classic, text-only covers. House Calligraphy works well for soft, romantic scripts, and Custom Design is ideal when you want to use a logo, crest, or bespoke artwork.
2. Do I need to supply artwork for my imprint?
You don’t need artwork for Curated Collection, Handset Metal Type, or House Calligraphy—text and choices on the order form are enough. For Custom Design (and any client-supplied calligraphy or logo), you’ll need to upload artwork files with your order.
3. What file format should I use for custom or logo imprints?
We recommend vector files wherever possible (such as AI, EPS, or high-resolution PDF) with text converted to outlines. Single-colour artwork with clean lines reproduces best as an imprint.
4. Are there limits on text length or characters?
All options work best with shorter wording, and handset metal type in particular has limits on character count, accents, and special symbols. If your text is long or uses uncommon characters, keep it concise and add a note in “SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS” so we can confirm what’s possible.
5. Can I combine more than one imprint on the cover?
In some cases, yes—for example, a studio logo plus a title or names, where the album line supports it. Use the options shown on the order form and describe your ideal layout in “SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS” so our team can review placement.
6. Will the imprint look exactly like it does on screen?
There may be subtle differences between on-screen previews and the final imprint, especially with Handset Metal Type and on textured materials like linen. We aim to keep spacing, alignment, and scale as close as possible while working within the physical process.
7. Does choosing a specific imprint style change production time?
Most cover imprints fall within our standard album turnaround. However, new custom artwork or logo dies may require extra setup; if your order is time-sensitive, please mention your timing in “SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS” so we can advise.
8. Can I reuse my studio logo imprint on future orders?
If a logo die or custom plate is created for your artwork, it’s typically kept on file for use on eligible products (such as albums, boxes, and cards). You can reference it by name on future orders so the same imprint is used again.
